The 2nd year of the IEC conference took place on September 14 – 15 2011 where representatives of 50 companies and institutions of 11 countries joined together. The conference was organised with the support of Mr Evžen Tošenovský, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament and under the auspices of Mr Petr Nečas, the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic.
The aim of the 2nd year was to focus on the topic of gas – a source of energy. To follow the 1st successful year the organisers decided to spread wide the idea of this opinion platform. In the eve of the session the participants met at the atrium of the Mamaison Business & Conference Hotel Imperial in Ostrava.
The conference was opened by Mr Evžen Tošenovský. The other speakers were Karel Dyba, the Ambassador of CR at OECD, Jan Světlík, the general director of the Vítkovice Holding or Mr Filip Thon, the head of the RWE Polska board. After the block of lectures a discussion followed.
As a part of the 2nd year of IEC there was a festival opening of the gas pipe line STORK (gas link between the Czech Republic and Poland near Český Těšín) organised by the NET4GAS, s.r.o. After the end of the conference the two day RWE Golf cup was held in Kravaře and Čeladná.
